Unofficial Wiki & Guide
A diorama-styled HD-2D action RPG from Square Enix and the team behind Octopath Traveler. Travel a thousand years across four eras with the adventurer Elliot and his fairy companion Faie — and let this wiki be your map through every age.
What is it?
The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is a real-time action RPG developed by Square Enix's Team Asano and Claytechworks — the same studio lineage responsible for Octopath Traveler, Bravely Default and Triangle Strategy. It is their first action RPG, and the first to take the trademark HD-2D look beyond turn-based combat into top-down, sword-and-shield adventure.
You play as Elliot, an orphan-raised adventurer from the Kingdom of Huther, and Faie, a fairy only he can see. When they uncover the Doorway of Time, their quest to lift a curse on Princess Heuria sends them a thousand years into the past, through four distinct eras of history.
Four Ages, One Millennium
The Doorway of Time carries Elliot and Faie across a thousand years. Each age is a different world — with its own towns, factions, dangers and people to help.
01 Elliot's home era. Humanity shelters inside the Kingdom of Huther behind Princess Heuria's protective barrier.
02 250 years earlier. With no barrier to hold back the beasts, the survivors of Littlehope cling to hope amid the ruins.
03 Humanity at its height in the magic nation of Weyzn, where the rival Forthewor and Formanit institutes shape the future.
04 The dawn of humankind in the settlement of Hitoyori, where the mysterious Myū tribe wields a power that could be hope — or threat.
How it plays
Combat is fast and physical — but the depth is in how you build Elliot and pair his weapons with Faie's spells.
Sword and shield, bow, hammer, lance, chain-sickle, bombs and boomerang. Equip two at once and switch freely mid-fight.
Forge magicite at the town shop and slot it into each weapon for new effects — within a per-weapon point budget you can re-tune anytime.
Ignite, Vacuum, Copy and Warp solve puzzles and turn fights — and they combo with magicite for delayed bombs and quadruple boomerangs.
Clear Shrines of Life for shards; collect four and your max health grows. Shrines of the Mystic teach Faie new magic.
A second player can take direct control of Faie — Team Asano's first ever local co-op, doubling as a friendly safety net.
There is no experience grind. You grow stronger through gear, magicite and exploration — closer to Zelda than to a classic JRPG.
Who you'll meet
A small core party and a wide cast spread across four eras — kings and scholars, researchers and chieftains.
The Adventurer
A compassionate young adventurer raised in Huther's orphanage, sent to explore the ruins beyond the kingdom's walls.
The Fairy
A fairy only Elliot can see or hear. Her memories from before they met are hazy — and central to the mystery.
Of the Kingdom of Huther
Caster of the spell of Safekeeping that shields the kingdom. A curse afflicts her — and lifting it drives the whole journey.
